This is a cosmos design star developed cut view of a hydro pneumatic pulsation dampener; a finite element presentation with mesh; A 3d modeling of a dampener design with created mesh of the geometry with nodes and elements. This is for the purpose of design review in accordance with procedure of our ISO 9001-2000 quality management system. This method reduces the cost of multiple strain gauges testing and multiple proof tests to destruction / failure.

In this representation, the base has been set as rigid because in use the bottom has a substantial block bolted to it (for pipe connections) which acts as nozzle / orifice port re-enforcement. Accordingly the stress concentration is shown greatest only what we term the gas side of the vessel.

This stress calculation has a color coded deformation scale and was explored by finite element analysis in cosmos design star. It has an exaggerated color code for the purpose of clarity to indicate that the red area is where there should be an increase of material.
